Defaults and No Shows:

Defaults:

If a player cannot participate in a scheduled match, the player must notify his or her opponent by the Wednesday prior to the match. This results in a default.

The player taking the default must select from one of the following two options:

1. Playing a Substitute Player, (by the appropriate due date).

2. Reporting a default and receiving their Current Average, (by the appropriate due date). In order to report a default, members must go to Report Scores on the web site’s main menu and select the option "I am defaulting my opponent and want to receive my current average".

Once a default has been reported, the player reporting the default may choose to waive the default penalty and play their opponent, if the match falls within the allotted make-up week. If this occurs, the winning golfer simply re-reports the match score online. Any player that receives 3 unexcused defaults will be suspended from the league.

No Shows:

A player arriving more than 20 minutes late to a scheduled match is considered a no-show.

The other player has three options:

1. Wait for the opponent. We consider this the best option if the player is not excessively late. Traffic and other considerations should be taken into account. If a player agrees to wait and play the match, the match will stand as played. Both players cannot also reschedule the match to take place during the allotted make-up week.

2. Choose to play against a substitute golfer.

3. Report a default and receive his or her Current Average points.

Ultra Match Golf is about playing golf. Matches should be determined on the course whenever possible. To avoid misunderstandings that can lead to unnecessary no shows, members should:
  • Keep your cell phone with you and turned on
  • Have your opponents contact numbers on hand
  • Designate a meeting place at the facility.
If you are running late, call your opponent immediately. Let your opponent know when you might arrive, as long as it is within 20 minutes of the scheduled start time.
