How To Report Scores
Each player keeps the score of their opponent during a match. After a match is complete, the winner is responsible for entering scores into the Ultra Match Golf system. If the winner has any problems making an entry, the losing player will be allowed to enter the scores online. Once a match is completed, the winner may go online and click the Report Scores link to access the schedule/division page. There the winner will be prompted with the following options:
- Played my scheduled opponent.
- Sub played for me.
- My opponent was a sub: Select this option if the match could not be completed due to scheduling conflicts, injury, illness, or if other player withdrew from the league.
How To Report Your Score When Using a Sub:
- If a sub played for you and won, you are responsible for reporting the score. Choose the option: Sub played for me.
- If you are playing a sub independently of your opponent, choose the option: I found a sub and arranged the match.
Note: All matches against subs count towards your point standings and playoff seeding, but do not count towards your rating. The reason sub matches are not counted towards a player's rating is:
1. Players can choose their own subs.
2. Substitute players may not be motivated to play as hard if the match does not count towards their own point total.
If your opponent defaults, you may choose the option: My opponent defaulted, I will take my average. This option can be used if your match circumstances meet the requirements set under Defaults and No Shows. You will be given your Current Average for that match.
If a match cannot be completed, members must enter the score exactly as it was when play stopped. Members must also provide a reason for the stoppage in play.
The end of season scoring deadline is final. Once the deadline has passed, no scores may be entered or corrected for any reason. Playoff draws are created immediately after the scoring deadline.
Why scoring deadlines?
The Ultra Match Golf format was designed to provide a balance between flexibility and structure that works within a variety of different schedules. Time limits are an absolute necessity for the league to function properly and keep players on track. Without due dates, even as few as two players delaying matches until the end of the season could lead to massive defaults, paralyzing entire divisions and creating widespread frustration. With the advent of time limits, non-responsive players can be replaced early in the season, preserving play for our active members. Hard deadlines are required for the league to operate properly. Thank you for understanding and your commitment.
Point System:
- Each hole is potentially worth three points. Three points for the winner, one point for each player if there is a tie. The point system only applies during the regular season. The playoffs are single elimination tournaments.
- If you and your opponent played 9 holes, your point total needs to be doubled to equal an 18-hole match. There are no penalties or limits for playing 9-hole matches.
